Crumbl Cookies has made waves across the internet with its signature pink boxes and elaborate, oversized cookies. Since its inception in 2017, Crumbl has rapidly grown into one of the most popular dessert destinations in the United States, expanding to over 1,000 locations across the U.S. and Canada.
The cookie chain’s unique approach to its menu has captivated many dessert enthusiasts, who eagerly anticipate the weekly rotation of flavors Crumbl offers.
With cookies as the mainstay, Crumbl also surprises customers with additional seasonal desserts like mini cakes and pies. Recently, Crumbl made an exciting change to its menu, expanding its selection from six to eight dessert options each week. New flavors are announced every Sunday and available to customers the following Monday, keeping the lineup fresh and enticing.
Curious to experience Crumbl Cookies myself, I visited a New Jersey location to try the selection for the week of November 11-16. I ordered eight cookies for a total of $36.46, averaging about $4.56 per cookie.
Unfortunately, one of the week’s popular options, the Cherry Cheesecake dessert, was sold out, so I picked an extra cookie to complete my box. Here’s how each cookie ranked in my taste test, from my least favorite to the best.

The Maple Glaze cookie, a brown sugar cookie drizzled with a rich maple glaze, seemed perfect for fall but had previously launched in July 2022.
Although the maple aroma and sugary surface made it visually appealing, the cookie’s intense sweetness was overwhelming for me, especially since I’m not generally a fan of maple-flavored desserts. While the crispy edges were enjoyable, the sweetness was excessive, making it unlikely that I’d choose this flavor again.
Pink Doughnut

The Pink Doughnut cookie, a vanilla-flavored treat with pink icing and colorful sprinkles, looked like something out of a cartoon.
The cookie was soft and had a familiar sugar-cookie flavor, but the glaze added a sugary element that I found unnecessary. Those who love frosted sugar cookies, such as Lofthouse, might enjoy this, but I felt it tipped too far toward being overly sweet.
Chocolate Cupcake

This cookie combines a vanilla sugar cookie base with a generous swirl of fudge frosting and chocolate sprinkles. While the cookie’s softness and chocolate frosting were appealing, the overall experience felt rich and heavy, limiting me to a few bites. Fans of ultra-decadent chocolate treats may find this appealing, but it was a bit too intense for my taste.
Lemon Crinkle

The Lemon Crinkle cookie was a refreshing surprise with a bright lemon flavor that balanced sweetness with slight tartness. Covered with powdered sugar and featuring a chewy, soft center, this cookie struck a harmonious flavor profile. The powdered sugar was ample but didn’t overpower, making this cookie a top contender for me.
Pumpkin Roll

A recurring seasonal favorite, the Pumpkin Roll cookie is a pumpkin-flavored, spice-infused treat with a swirl of cream cheese frosting.
This cookie embodied autumn flavors, with prominent notes of cinnamon and ginger complementing the pumpkin base. Although I enjoyed the pumpkin and spice flavors, the cream cheese icing was a bit sweet for my liking, but I still found it to be a solid option.
Snickerdoodle

Crumbl’s take on the Snickerdoodle was a pleasant surprise. This cookie had a light cinnamon flavor and a slightly crunchy edge, which made it satisfying without being overly sweet. Although a stronger cinnamon flavor would have been nice, the balance between sweetness and texture made this cookie enjoyable and well-rounded.
Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chunk

Crumbl rotates between their Milk Chocolate Chip and Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chunk cookies, with the latter available during my visit. Featuring chunks of semi-sweet chocolate and a sprinkle of sea salt, this classic flavor was my favorite by far.
The cookie was buttery and sweet but balanced by the sea salt and semi-sweet chocolate. It reminded me of a traditional chocolate chip cookie, hitting just the right notes of sweet and salty.
The Verdict on Crumbl Cookies
While Crumbl Cookies delivers on variety and visual appeal, I found that many of the cookies were excessively sweet. With some cookies packing up to 60 grams of sugar per serving, they can be a bit much for those not keen on overly sugary treats.
However, Crumbl’s Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chunk Cookie was a standout for its classic and balanced flavor profile, making it the one cookie I’d gladly repurchase.
In comparison to other well-known bakeries like Levain Bakery and Chip City, Crumbl’s cookies were fun to try but might not replace my top choices from these spots.
Overall, Crumbl offers a unique experience for cookie lovers, with something for nearly every palate. However, if you’re a fan of classic, well-balanced flavors, it’s best to start with the Chocolate Chunk option for a satisfying first taste.
